Rules for the Use of the Cofrac Trademark

The French Accreditation Committee (Cofrac) defines, in document GEN REF 11 "General Rules for Referring to Accreditation and International Recognition Agreements," the requirements for using the Cofrac logo and accreditation marks. This document is available on the Cofrac website in the documentation section: https://tools.cofrac.fr/fr/documentation.

The Cofrac logo alone is exclusively reserved for the French Accreditation Committee.

The use of the accreditation mark, which is a semi-figurative mark composed of a combination of the Cofrac logo and an indication of the conformity assessment activity covered by the accreditation (in this case, "Testing"), can be used by the Unit for Plant and Environmental Analysis (USRAVE) of INRAE only on materials referring to at least one part of the activities listed in its scope of accreditation (accreditation no. 1-1838, scope available on www.cofrac.fr), provided that its accreditation is valid. In this case, the reproduction of the accreditation mark by USRAVE must comply with the rules specified in document GEN REF 11.

!! IMPORTANT !! As clients of USRAVE:

  • You are allowed to refer to the laboratory's accreditation by reproducing the full reports we have provided to you, without modification or alteration. If you wish to include a test report in your documents, it must be included in its entirety.
  • You are also allowed to state that "you have used an accredited laboratory (USRAVE) for the services provided."

However:

  • You are not allowed to reproduce the Cofrac logo and/or the accreditation mark on any materials (publications, posters, letterheads, brochures, websites, and various communication materials...).
  • You are not allowed to use textual references to USRAVE's accreditation (in the sense of textual references equivalent to the application of the mark).

The Cofrac mark is registered with the INPI and protected. Any unauthorized use of this mark is subject to legal action.

If USRAVE becomes aware of incorrect use of its accreditation reference, it will inform Cofrac, which will take necessary measures.

For any questions regarding the use of accreditation marks, please contact Mr. Fabrice de Raemaeker (fabrice.de-raemaeker@inrae.fr).
